Sometimes a program is so successful, it just begs for a repeat performance. That was exactly the thinking when Texas Parks and Wildlife repackaged their highly successful public awareness campaign “Hello Giant Salvinia, Goodbye Texas Lakes” into a program for zebra mussel awareness in the Lone Star State.
Boating Brainstorm Available Online
Each year, the Recreational Boating and Fishing Foundation hosts an in-depth workshop for all states who want to attend and learn how they can help further the Take Me Fishing message. Unfortunately, the RBFF can only afford to host two representatives from each state at the workshop. But for the rest of us, there’s still a way to get the goods.
NSSF Report Records Target Shooting Impact
Every state shooting sports program is evaluated with the same question – is teaching kids to shoot actually going to create outdoors enthusiasts interested in conservation? But recruiting shooters can be just as important to Wildlife and Sport Fish Restoration funds.
Don’t forget the birders
It’s easy to get wrapped up in hunting season during winter. Even angling and boating get some coverage during the coldest months of the year, when water and ice safety are of the utmost importance. But there’s another group out there conservation agencies serve, and winter has a prime event for them as well.
