Donation Made in Memory of Scott Pengelly
(09/15/17)
Many ACI-ers remember Scott Pengelly, a long-time and active ACI member who passed away unexpectedly last December. The Board of Directors wanted to make a memorial contribution to a cause Scott believed in and consulted with his Minnesota DNR colleagues, who in turn spoke with Scott’s family.
Scott’s wife, Kath, asked that ACI target that donation to the DNR. Her exact words were, “Wow, what a wonderful surprise from ACI! Scott loved that organization. Could we give the memorial to the DNR? Scott was so proud of the work you and your coworkers do!”
The Board made a $100 donations to the Minnesota Conservation Volunteer Magazine gift fund. The magazine is 97-percent supported by reader contributions. The staff, who often worked closely with Scott, put every dollar to work on conservation communications.
From Minnesota DNR: “Scott meant so much to all of us, it is really special to hear how others around the country are choosing to remember him. He was an incredible person and a great talent. Thank you to you and your team for such a thoughtful idea.”
