Leaders Needed
(07/17/23)

One of the items of business at this year’s ACI Conference is the election of three new members to the Board of Directors, as well as officers.
The new Board members will succeed Tim Akimoff, Patricia Allen and Ashley Sanchez, whose three-year terms expire this year. Terms also expire for President Lance Cherry and Secretary Blake Podhajsky. The Vice President position is currently vacant.
If you’ve been considering stepping up your involvement with ACI, this is your opportunity. Our Policies & Procedures spell out the eligibility requirements for a position on the Board:
“…a person must represent an agency that has been a member in good standing for a minimum of two years. Nominees must have attended at least two of the past four conferences and/or must have served as an official committee member for at least two years. Nominees understand they will be expected to attend conferences, Board meetings and teleconferences, if at all possible. They also are advised to consult with their agency supervisors before committing to be a candidate.”
We hope that between now and the conference, you will give the idea some thought. Talk it over with your supervisor. Reach out to any ACI officer or Board member for a first-hand account of what it’s like to serve this great organization.
President Lance Cherry will appoint this year’s Nominating Committee before the conference. They will be reaching out to potential candidates. Conversely, we encourage to make your interest known to any of them.
Please consider becoming one of ACI’s leaders. You will find it to be a rewarding experience.
