The 2024 ACI Conference kicked off on Tuesday, July 23 with a great keynote address by Dr. Mamie Parker.
Dr. Mamie Parker is a distinguished fish and wildlife biologist renowned for her leadership and advocacy in conservation. As Principal Consultant at Ecologix Group, Inc., she brings decades of experience as Chief of Staff and Assistant Director at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and as the first black Regional Director in the Northeast in the agency’s 135 year history. Her influence extends through transformative initiatives such as renaming the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources and pioneering diversity resolutions. Dr. Parker’s accolades include the Presidential Rank Award, NPR and Smithsonian publications recognition, and the Association of State Fish and Wildlife Agencies’ Lifetime Achievement Award in honor of Bass Pro Shop Founder, John L. Morris. She continues shaping environmental policy and mentoring women and future black and brown leaders in STEM fields.
